This year continues to be a busy one for your child’s brain. In fact, by the end of this year, it’ll be approximately 80% of its final adult size! In terms of brain development at around this age their brain will start ‘pruning’, that is, removing information that is no longer deemed relevant. It’s not a bad thing, it’s your child’s way of getting ready to understand more complex information.
